Siddharta Gaotama spoke of the Paradise of the Buddha Amitabha, which although billions of Buddhalands away from here can be reached by 10 Perfect recitations of the name Amitabha.
Amitabha is the Buddha of Joy. He represents the element Fire and sits on a throne that is supported by 10 Roosters, symbols for lust. He teaches detachment and promotes longevity. He is revered by the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism, which focuses on Mindfulness of and recitions of the name of the Buddha Amitabha.
Pure Land Buddhist believe that even a grave sinner can be redeemed if he accomplishes 10 recitations of Amitabha's name at the moment of death. The parable the Masters use to illustrate this is that of a house filled whith darkness, but as soon as the curtains are unveiled the darkness dissappears.
